HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise

When it comes to crisp production documents for purposes of work, most people opt for a laser printer, with its output of high-quality text. This technology is always pleasant to produce finely step detailed color images. With the Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise, HP believes that it has created an inkjet printer which has the quality of output of text to a laser printer, but all the advantages of a model of ink-jet color reproduction. Price approximately £ 155, the company succeeded in its objective?

While most manufacturers choose a black finish or dull grey on their devices, HP went to the place for a much more visually interesting mixture of white and black. It makes the printer look much cooler than the competition, which can be the sign of HP intend to make of this popular model among creatives, who will appreciate its color printing of credentials.

HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise is a color straight ahead black and white printer. There is no scan or copy extras that you find on the multifunction models. Unlike most other models of the 8000 series, it has a monochrome LCD screen of two lines display. This is joined by a simple bi-directional control for moving back and forth in the menus and a few other buttons for including a touch of aid and Cancel button. Controls can be limited, but as the menus are basic and it is easy to use. Ink levels are displayed on the LCD screen as a series of bars.

Paper is fed into the printer and prints in a tray which videos on top of the background paper feeder. It is a fairly simple system and works fairly well, even if to load with big paper trains you sometimes delete this high plateau. He holds a maximum of 250 sheets of paper.

The 8000 can be connected by USB and Ethernet. Unfortunately HP has not included support Wi - Fi, but you can share with multiple computers via Ethernet if you want.

Ink cartridges fit into the slots behind a flip in Rabat at the front.

It is quite easy to configure the printer. Must be four ink cartridges - a great black one and three small color ones. These slot in catch behind a flip down lid at the front, so that the cartridges are always separated by the print heads. Once you have loaded cartridges, you connect the two print heads in printing mechanism and then the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise will print an alignment page. When that is complete and that you have loaded the drivers on your PC from the installation CD, you are ready to rock.

Print engine has a rather low resolution 600 x 600 dpi, and it is also not the fastest on the block when it comes to deliver the printed pages. Our ten pages of black and white documents took two minutes and seven seconds to print, while our presentation of ten pages company takes two minutes and four seconds to print in colour. Ten pages graphic color test was not much faster, taking a minutes and 58 seconds. Printing photo even has been relatively slow as a snap 4 x 6-inch takes a minute and 12 seconds to print.

However, the results are impressive. Black text is particularly crunchy and dark for an inkjet model and not all that far from what you would expect form a laser printer. Graphic color also considered first rate with strong colours and gradients of nice, smooth when detailing the transitions between shades. However, the photo prints appeared fairly poor with many visible speckles and dithering, especially on the skin tones.

Where the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise begin to differentiate many ink jet models - and even many colour laser - is in operating costs. Color cartridges cost approximately £ 16 and are good for 1 400 pages, while the Black XL cartridge costs approximately £ 23 and is good for 2 200 pages. Running approximately 1.7 percent per page for black and white documents including the costs of paper and about 5.7 p per page for color sheets. This makes it much cheaper run that the vast majority of inkjet printers and a lot of color laser models.

The printer has also a few additional management functionality. For example, it is a webserver built so you can connect in your browser to view and configure its settings and you can set alerts for when email is run out of ink.

Overall, the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise is a printer inkjet fine for those who want to primarily a color printer to use for work purposes. It produces the text of high quality and rich impressive colour documents, while managing running costs to a minimum. However, it is far more quickly a color laser printer and its output of photo quality is quite poor.
