The Pen E - PL3, or Lite Pen, is a new entry of Micro four thirds Olympus lens-swapping.
The E - PL3 12.3 megapixel allows you to change the lens on the front of the camera for different situations and effects. It packs a new folding screen, so you can see what you are shooting angles different too.
The E - PL3 shoots 1080i video high definition, with a dedicated video button and a HDMI output. Click on through our gallery to see more.
Features as a practical guide "live" and assorted special effects such as blur and vibrant pop art makes it easy for beginners. It is in several elegant colours, too.
Small size of the E - PL3 said against the Panasonic Lumix DMC - GF2 and Lumix DMC - newly announced GF3. With the Mini pen also announced today, the cameras such as this are as small as a snapper can be still adjusting the mount on the front. The cameras are easily small enough to slip into a jacket pocket, although the lenses and accessories can add to this size.
Small is beautiful when you packing or gets your stuff, but his or her cup size E - PL3 does not have a built in flash. If you want a flash or a viewfinder, you will need to take in the hotshoe, which could present a difficult choice.
Other possible hotshoe accessories include a wireless module that backs up your photos on your computer or on the Web without the pesky wires.
Micro four third-party models, Olympus and Panasonic are lens-swapping cameras more established, but there are a lot of contenders at their heels. Sony has the easy beginner NEX range, Samsung has the NX line with a full-frame sensor, and Pentax has weighed just renewed q system.
The E - PL3 launches today alongside the Pen Mini E-PM1 and the ship Admiral, stylised retro Pen E - P3. Three cameras will launch in the fall. The price for the E - PL3 has not yet announced.
